This introductory module will explore the fundamentals of teaching, learning and assessment in Higher Education. It has been designed to develop participants’ skills, confidence as well as scholarship in becoming more skilful and confident to respond to challenges they may face in their teaching practice. This introductory course is aimed at staff new to teaching in HE. Typical roles will include that of Graduate Teaching Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Associate Lecturers, Post- Graduate Researchers Students and other staff such as Technicians and Learning Technologists with responsibility of supporting student learning. The course is also available to Part Time Staff (hourly paid lecturers) new to teaching in Higher Education. Successful completion of the module will enable participants to apply for Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
